The Ole Ball Game

what would happen if the yankees released alex rodriguez ?

Paul asked: I suppose he could sit back and collect his money and not play baseball. But if he wants to play baseball he could re-negociate a fair contract. I know nothing about contracts but doing something radical might not be such a bad idea.

Rick answered: Paul, thank you for your question!

I have no experience or background in contracts myself.

Whether a team decides to release a player or not always depends on numerous factors. There is no one situation covers all.

There are numerous teams which would like to have the opportunity to get a player the caliber of Alex Rodriguez. Only a handfull probably could afford to pick up his contract, even if the Yankees paid some of it.

A way would be found, if the situation presented itself.

Yours in baseball,

Rick
