Thrown out at 3rd!
Out at third
Anonymous asked: This happened last night in our LL game and was wondering how to score it properly.
Hard hit ball to center field runner attempts to stretch it to a triple but is thrown out at third.
This is scored an 8-5 put out correct?
This would not be scored as a double ,right?
Rick answered: Thank you for your question.
The scoring would go into the book as a double, with the 8-5 put out recorded as the reason the batter-runner was recorded as an out, whether it was out 1,2 or 3.
The hitter gets credit for his safe hit, as well as any bases he legally reaches and touches, before the put out occurs.
