Has any player ever played in the College World Series & Major League World Series in the same year?

Al asked: Brandon Finnegan of the Kansas City Royals played in the 2014 College World Series, just made an appearance in the 2014 Postseason Playoffs, and has a chance for an appearance in the World Series.

Has anyone ever done this before and if so, whom?

I have been unable to locate anyone to date who has done this.

There have been many who played in the LL World Series, College World Series and MLB World Series; but no one who has done what Brandon Finnegan may have the opportunity to do. A rare happening indeed.

Lots of things have to align just right for that to happen.

Always nice to see someone do something that hasn't been done before, and he did it with style.

I believe that club he just started will always be small in numbers, as it takes so many other factors than personal talent to position yourself.

Was fun to watch.
