Rick answered: Joe, thank you for your question.

In the scorebook, the fielder's choice would be scored FC for the batter. When they total the book after the game, they know it counts as a time at bat,; but not a hit, and there is no put out on the batter as he reaches first base.

If there is a putout recorded on a base runner, that putout gets recorded in the base runner's box, based on what the situation was. Say a 6-5, depending on the players involved.
