The Ole Ball Game

Discussion on the mound

by Doug
(CT)

I'm coaching a little league team here in Connecticut. Coming into the last inning we are up by one run. Our closer was a little tense after putting the first batter on.

I call time and walk out to see the pitcher. I ask him " What are you having for dinner tonight?"

He looks at me kind of confused and said, "I don't know."

I tell him " Well I'm having pasta, and I really like it. Can you hurry up and finish this?"

All the tension was lifted as we almost began to laugh.

He then struck out the next 3 guys.

Great baseball story
by: Rick, theoleballgame.com

Doug, I really liked your baseball story.

I have one similar myself that I have planned to write, but have never gotten around to it.

You have spurred me on to getting that done.

A super piece of coaching!

Yours in baseball,

Rick
