No RBI On a Wild Pitch

Art asked: The batter is in the batters box, there is a runner on third base, the pitcher throws a wild pitch which allows the runner on third base to score.

Does the batter at the plate get an RBI?

Rick answered: Art, thank you for your question.

No rbi on a wild pitch, passed ball, balk or a steal of home.

The base runner is credited with a run scored.

Yours in baseball,

Rick
