The Ole Ball Game

Intensity Drill

by Coach
(VA)

Split team into two teams like an inner squad
Each team will start from respected dugout
Play 9 or 7 simulated innings
Coach randomly hits fungos

PLAYERS ARE TIMED ON and OFF FIELD varies by age

Teams Switch when:
3outs have been recorded (only inning that counts, every other reason for switching does not
count as an inning)
An error occurs Mental/Physical
Players out of position not backing up throws
Player not at position by set time
Lack of effort not laying out or jogging after ball

Good for days when players are going through the motions an not getting after it. Meant to bring enthusiasm and excitement along with game pressure situations. Teaches players to hustle ON and OFF the field

Becomes a great conditioning drill

I think the coach is timing each team from the bench to 3 outs its a competition so the team with the least amount of time on the watch is the winner
