Anonymous asked:Hi, how long is the throw from shortstop to first base?

Rick answered: The distance thrown from shortstop to first base will vary with where and how hard the ball is hit.

On a regulation 90' diamond, most throws will be made between 85 and 130 feet. This would be for high school players. MLB and college players have a greater range and distance they can handle.

In the photo above, the between innings warmup throw the player is making would be 120-130'.

Thank you for your question.

Yours in baseball,

Rick
